Description
Round coffee table n ° 34, Tubauto edition, designed by Jacques Hitier. The top is in oak veneer plywood, the base in tubular black lacquered metal. Jacques Hitier (1917-1999) was a French industrial designer who worked primarily in the mid-20th century. He is known for his minimalist and functional designs, often using materials such as metal, wood, and plastic.
Hitier studied at the Ecole Boulle in Paris and began his career as a furniture designer in the 1930s. He worked for several prominent French companies, including Air France, where he designed interiors for airplanes, and the furniture manufacturer Tubauto.
Hitier's work is characterized by its functionality and practicality. He believed that good design should be accessible to everyone and that it should serve a useful purpose. -
