    Waves is a unique hybrid work by Jacques Jarrige—at once console, cabinet, and sculpture. Here, Jarrige merges functionality with poetic gesture, using the visual vocabulary of his acclaimed Waves sculptures to create a piece that transcends conventional furniture design.

    At the heart of the composition is a floating, hand-hammered aluminum sculpture, suspended within a painted wooden frame. This central element, animated by light and movement, evokes the ripple of water or the sweep of wind—a fluid form that seems to breathe and pulse within its architectural enclosure. The hammered surface captures and reflects light, drawing the eye and activating the surrounding space.

    Flanking the central sculpture are two discreet cabinets, integrated seamlessly into the structure of the console. Their understated presence allows the sculptural element to take center stage, while also offering practical storage and functional grounding. The overall composition is both airy and anchored—an elegant balance of mass and void, stillness and motion.

    With Waves, Jarrige invites the viewer to engage with a piece that exists between disciplines: art and design, form and utility. It is a bold statement of his ongoing exploration of space, rhythm, and the expressive potential of hand-crafted materials.
