Description
The Parade desk is a unique sculptural piece by Jacques Jarrige that merges function with expressive form. Both a desk and a luminous object, it reflects Jarrige’s signature exploration of movement, material, and the blurring of boundaries between furniture and sculpture.
The legs and apron are cast in bronze and finished with a dark, hand-applied patina. Across the surface, organically shaped facets have been polished to a soft sheen, revealing the warm metal beneath and bringing a quiet, rhythmic shimmer to the piece. These irregular, hand-sculpted forms introduce a sense of flow and vitality, animating the structure with a tactile, almost geological energy.
The top is crafted in a rich mahogany veneer that offers a refined contrast to the textured bronze below. Its smooth surface and warm tone lend a sense of balance and elegance, complementing the sculptural complexity of the base. Measuring 30 inches high, the desk is both inviting and functional.
As with all of Jarrige’s work, Parade is deeply rooted in gesture and material honesty. It is not simply a desk—it is a work of art that brings warmth, presence, and movement to the space it inhabits. -
