Description
The Nazca small coffee table by Jacques Jarrige is hand-sculpted in natural oak, its faceted edges carved with the artist's characteristic intuition and rhythmic gestures. More than a piece of furniture, it is a functional sculpture shaped through subtraction, where volume and line emerge from the removal of material.
The table rests on three legs, each cut at a slightly different angle, lending the composition a quiet dynamism and an almost animated presence. Subtle asymmetries and shifting planes invite the eye to move across its surfaces, revealing the traces of the artist's hand and his ongoing exploration of balance and movement.
Though grounded in the solidity of oak, Nazca possesses an unexpected lightness. Its open silhouette activates the space around it, engaging with light, shadow, and the viewer's perspective. Refined yet raw, minimal yet expressive, the table embodies the tension between stability and motion that lies at the heart of Jarrige's work.
Whether placed at the center of a living room or beside a favorite chair, Nazca functions as both an everyday object and a sculptural presence—quietly transforming the atmosphere of the space it inhabits. -
