This table is a modern Danish rectangular wood coffee table, with a black lacquered metal frame designed by Johannes Aasbjerg Andersen.
The table was manufactured by the historical manufacturer, Illums Bolighus. The tabletop and bottom of the legs are made of solid wood, while the frame is metal. The metal parts give the table a sleek industrial style, while the wood sabots on the legs are a stylish addition to the design.

About the designer:
Johannes Aasbjerg Andersen (1921 – 2006) was born in 1921 in Struer, Denmark. In 1941 he got his Svendebrev (apprenticeship) as a cabinet maker. By the end of the decade he started a carpentry workshop (Aasbjerg & Ørtoft) with his brother, Harry Ørtoft Andersen. In 1961 the brothers opened their first store called “Excellent Furniture Company” in Wiesbaden, Germany. In that time only pilots from the US could afford their quality furniture, but eventually they started having German customers as well. All the designs of Johannes Aasbjerg (with the exception of the Langbordet) were only sold by the company, therefore records of his works are limited. ~H.
