Large English Cocktail Table with Chinoiserie Top

Description
A massive cocktail table using 18th century Chinoiserie screens, custom-made in England. The lacquered panels most likely began as a folding screen, they are gilded with stylized illustrations of dragons, pagodas, and tranquil streams which shimmer against the glossy black lacquer. The (more modern) wooden base is ebonized (painted) and trimmed in gold to make a seamless transition from the show-stopping table top. As this was originally a folding screen, the edges between sections are visible, in addition to any other loss due to age and use. An unforgettable piece. Please view the detailed images.
