An elegant Louis XVI style flat desk in mahogany, double-sided and beautifully proportioned, featuring classic neoclassical details and refined craftsmanship. The desk opens at the front with five drawers, each fitted with a functional lock and original key. The drawer fronts, side panels, and simulated drawers on the back are all outlined with inset brass rods, adding a sophisticated gleam to the rich wood grain.
Two pull-out extensions on either side expand the work surface, making this a highly functional and versatile writing table. The top is covered in a green tooled leather insert, in excellent condition, with fine gilt tooling around the border.
Rounded and fluted front and rear uprights flow seamlessly into four fluted legs, each adorned with a brass collar ring at the top and ending in elegant brass sabots. The desk has been professionally cleaned and re-patinated, bringing out the warmth and depth of the mahogany while preserving its historical character.
Both practical and refined, this Louis XVI style desk is an exceptional choice for a study, library, or office where elegance meets enduring utility.
