An elegant Neapolitan Empire bench crafted in solid mahogany, dating to the second half of the 19th century. Exemplifying the refined grandeur of southern Italian Empire design, the bench features gracefully curved armrests ending in finely carved swan heads — a neoclassical motif symbolizing grace and purity. The arm supports are joined by delicate spool crosspieces, adding both strength and sculptural rhythm. The seat is upholstered and rests on cabriole legs terminating in feline paw feet, a hallmark of Empire craftsmanship. The deep mahogany patina reveals warmth and age, enhancing its noble presence. This piece captures the Neapolitan interpretation of Empire style — lighter, more lyrical, and distinctly Mediterranean in spirit.
