Description
Elegant pair of 19th-century Italian Empire armchairs from Genoa, crafted in solid mahogany with refined neoclassical detailing. Each chair features arched legs terminating in stylized feline feet—a hallmark of the Empire period—and gracefully curved armrests supported by turned baluster columns. The mahogany frames retain a rich, warm patina that emphasizes the sculptural beauty of their form. Newly upholstered in soft white velvet, the seats and backs provide a striking contrast to the dark wood, creating a sense of lightness and proportion. These armchairs embody the Genoese interpretation of Empire design: stately yet restrained, formal yet welcoming. Perfect as statement pieces in a salon, living room, or refined bedroom, they exemplify the enduring harmony between classical symmetry and Italian craftsmanship—a timeless pairing of elegance and poise.
