Description
This 20th-century Louis XVI–style flat desk is crafted in blond mahogany and designed to be finished on all sides. The desk opens with three front drawers, while each side contains a pull-out writing support covered in its original tan leather. The main top, also with rounded corners and original leather, shows a consistent patinated surface appropriate to age. The drawers and side panels are detailed with brass rods, and the fronts are fitted with bronze escutcheons; the back is constructed to visually simulate a drawer front, maintaining symmetry in open placement. All locks are functional and operate with their accompanying key.
The desk stands on four tapered, fluted legs finished with bronze sabots and capped with brass rings at the upper section of each leg. The proportions, materials, and decorative vocabulary reflect the Louis XVI tradition while offering the practicality of additional pull-out surfaces and a fully finished presentation.
This is an antique and having been around for a long time, it will show signs of wear. Antique pieces have very much sought-after character and associated flaws. Please review photos for condition & contact us with questions! -
