Description
Louis XVI Tulipwood and Ormolu Mounted Bureau Plat A signed piece with rectangular top with inset green leather, possibly original, over a frieze with one central drawer flanked by drawers each with round original wreath rings with conforming backplates, the reverse of the desk finished with false drawers. All raised on square tapered legs headed by a drapery swag, lower cuff and sabot feet. With key. Stamped J.J Kirschenbach and JME. Works by Kirschenbach are illustrated in Le Mobilier Francais du 18th Century by Kjellberg and Le Ebenistes du 18th Century by Salverte.
