An Elegant and Timeless Pair of French Mid-Century Modern Neoclassical ,triple tier, side / end tables or nightstands in solid brass by Maison Jansen for Maison Bagues. The tables are composed of the highest quality solid brass frames with 3 inset tiers of reverse painted gilt glass in a technique known as "Verre Eglomisse". Verre Eglomisse is an ancient painting craft descending from the Middle Ages. Gilding glass on the reverse side creates a subtle effect and gives the tables an otherworldly, sensuous appeal. And, their aged patina adds to its authentic appeal. The legs are all fluted and the piece is delicately sits on tapered feet. The tables are elegantly finished with cross bracing in a Curile / X-form. In totality, they are masterpieces of a quiet dramatic design that is rare to behold and exhibit the highest quality of materials and construction.
