"Komed" Dining Table by Marc Newson

Description
Round dining table by Marc Newson for New York's Soho restaurant, Canteen, with a cast aluminum base and an orange lacquered wood top. Canteen opened in 1999 by owners John McDonald and Josh Pickard along with chef Matthew Kenney. McDonald was the first American entrepreneur to commission Newson for design in New York, preceding McDonald's Lever House Restaurant that also had interiors by Marc Newson. As shown in the last image, Canteen was furnished with these round orange Komed tables that were paired with brown fabric upholstered, freestanding demi-lune, banquettes as well as square Komed tables paired with orange upholstered Komed chairs.
