Description
Rare low table by Michel Mangematin. The circular glass top resting on a cast bronze tripod base.
Michel Mangematin is a french architect who went to the United States in 1957 and studied in the workshops of Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe, whom he met and admired. The legs of this table are inspired by Van der Rohe's 'Barcelona' chair. Dedicated to his carreer as an architect and also teacher in Clermont Ferrand, France, Michel Mangematin only designed three pieces of furniture, all with the same legs: one dining table, this model of coffee table and an armchair, which was never produced.
Provenence: bought privately in Paris. -
