Description
Pneuma Table in Polished Concrete
A mass in motion, stretched and held in equilibrium.
The Pneuma Table explores the tension between weight and lift—its form tapering and extending as if caught mid-transformation. The gesture suggests motion held in suspension, where energy is translated into matter and then quietly stilled.
Each piece is hand-formed in highly polished concrete, resulting in a refined, marble-like surface with subtle tonal variation and depth. The material is both substantial and unexpectedly fluid, shaped through an intensive process that balances control with responsiveness to the medium. A clear Plexiglass support discreetly elevates the form, allowing the volume to appear as if it hovers just above the ground.
The name Pneuma, derived from the Greek word for breath or vital force, references the unseen energies that animate physical form. This piece embodies that idea—simultaneously grounded and weightless, solid yet expansive.
Designed as a functional sculpture, the table operates equally as a centerpiece and as an atmospheric presence within a space. Each work is made to order and may exhibit slight variations, emphasizing its handcrafted nature.
