Description
This table is strikingly beautiful. Designed by Osvaldo Borsani for Tecno in the 1970s this table is simple, clean, modern, and timelessly chic. A solid brass flaired out tulip style base, with a round 50" calacatta marble top with absolutely stunning veining.
Osvaldo Borsani was an Italian architect and designer who founded the furniture Tecno in 1953 with his brother, Fulgenzio Borsani. The company quickly became well known for its innovative and functional designs, which were highly influential in the postwar period.
Borsani was the chief designer for Tecno and created many of the company's most iconic pieces, including the P40 lounge chair, and the T69 dining table which are still considered a design Classic today.
Borsani's designs for Tecno were characterized by their clean lines, functional simplicity, and attention to detail. He was known for his use of new materials and production techniques, which allowed him to create furniture that was both beautiful and practical.
Borsani's designs for Tecno have received numerous awards and accolades, including the Compasso d'Oro, Italy's most prestigious design award, which he won four times. His work for the company helped to establish Tecno as one of the leading furniture manufacturers of the 20th century.
This chic dining table would look incredible in any Mid-Century Modern, modern or contemporary home. This table is timeless just like a Warren Platner for Knoll table, this table would look incredible, dressed up or dressed down or possibly with some Eero Saarinen Knoll tulip chairs.
We currently have this dining table in the gallery paired with some Gio Ponti chairs, and not only does this table make a statement, the table really steals the show-- absolutely gorgeous! -
