Oval Biedermeier / neoclassical extendable dining room table with 5 inlay leaves from South Germany, circa 1880.
Cherry wood veneer and solid wood. Ebonized edge, leg tips, and decorative band on the tabletop. 6 conical square tapered legs made of solid cherry wood. 5 extension leaves, each approximately 49.5 cm, veneered in cherry wood, added during restoration. Extends to approximately 385 cm / 151.57 in, seating up to 18 people.
Hand-polished shellac finish. Good, previously restored condition with slight signs of wear. Upon purchase, it can be polished again, and the ebonized parts can be re-ebonized with shellac.
