    Rare "Chan" side table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels in green, blue, and orange with gold and copper leaf by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne” on top.) The coloration of this little gem is captivating. This table can be used as a coffee table as well as a side table.

The caption from the LaVerne catalog reads, “Chinese artistry at its peak under the Chan Dynasty is recreated in this intricately carved design. We see peasants carrying a sacred gift to the Emperor’s child. Delicately wrought leaves and figures, combine with a rich variety of multicolored patinas to create the Chinoiserie top. The design is credited as inspiring and evoking French and English periods of furniture design.”
