Description
Magnificent "Tang Boucher” coffee table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with vibrant hand-painted enamels, gold and copper leaf and cast French ribbon legs by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on table top with original paper gallery label on bottom). The hand-engraved details in the scene depicted by the LaVernes are masterfully crafted and absolutely stunning. Enamels of blue, green, orange and yellow stand out among the captivating setting.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, this motif is shown in the section on Historical Civilizations on pages 67-69. The Boucher shape of this table is shown on pages 44-45 with the caption, “The French ribbon legs on this model make it a standout.” -
