Pair of coffee tables in Lucite, gold-plated brass, and glass shelves.
Signed « Pierre Vandel Paris ».
Story
Pierre Vandel was a French luxury furniture company known for its coffee tables, chairs, storage units, and other items produced in the 1970s and 1980s.
The French interior designer Pierre Vandel, born in 1939 gave his name to the company. He decided to open his own studio in 1970 and start producing high-end furniture.
His meeting with Pierre Cardin opened up many opportunities for him. His work then became known internationally.
He won two Oscars for exports from the Ministry of Industry, notably in 1981.
Pierre Vandel’s furniture is characterized by simple shapes and is made of black lacquer, Lucite, and glass, embellished with gold-plated brass buttons and rings.
He was also the creator of the famous “Vertèbres” armchair. -
