Description
Large Swedish Dining Table in Pine by Roland Wilhelmsson
€5,500.00
Striking round dining table in solid pine, designed by Roland Wilhelmsson in 1973. The table is signed “Furuhuset / specialtillverkat / 1973,” indicating a custom-made piece from his workshop.
Wilhelmsson is known for working with reclaimed timber, sourced from old buildings in Stockholm that were demolished during the 1970s. The top displays a rich surface with visible knots and natural variations, giving the piece a strong sense of history and material authenticity.
The construction is robust and architectural, with a solid base of four legs connected by a cross stretcher, providing both stability and a grounded visual presence. A characterful and highly individual piece, combining craftsmanship with a narrative rooted in Stockholm’s changing urban landscape.
Condition: Good vintage condition with wear consistent with age and material.
