This desk was designed in the early 1950s by esteemed designer Nanna Ditzel for production by Søren Willadsen. Ditzel studied design at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts with other iconic designers such as Victor Isbrand and Peter Hvidt, with whom she would collaborate on other now-desirable projects. Graduating just in time for the explosion of Mid-Century furniture, Ditzel designed many icons of the style, including the Trinidad chair and Hanging Egg chair, and is widely known as being the most successful female Danish designer.

This desk is of the most desirable rosewood variant with the larger 4 drawers. Its beautiful design stems from excellent proportions combined with Ditzlel's customary natural and smooth style. The desk is further elevated by the rosewood slab construction and extremely tight tolerances in the drawers' fit. Our example represents the pinnacle of the traditional Danish philosophies of quality, design, and practicality.

Our example has been completely refinished. This involves a lengthy hand-sanding process, followed by application of new finish, and multiple layers of protective clear-coat. Finally, the desk is buffed to a satin shine that allows the grain to truly pop. Ready to be placed in any modern home or project, you will love everything about this piece.
