The French team of Louis Sue et Andre Mare's work fused Modern Neoclassicism with the emerging Art Deco in prolific, luxurious ways.
This cocktail table is a master work composed of a rare eight-legged structure supporting a long top ending with oval forms on each end. The gilt bronze legs have a bold tapering form and are fluted which enhance the lines of the piece. Each leg terminates with a fluted gilt bronze sabot in the form of a delicate Egyptian lotus which finish the piece in superb detail. The four end legs are splayed on an angle enhancing the clarity and line of the entire piece.
The top is of Italian Calicatta marble in off-white, gold and grey tones.
