Description
We are always searching for pieces of any style and from any era that feel timeless and have an appealing presence. We were drawn to this late twentieth century table by the renowned contemporary furniture manufacturer Theodore Alexander. Every element of the piece is delicate and easy on the eye, coming together to create an attractive silhouette that is ready for a renewed aesthetic. Our team sought to evolve the table’s presence with both color and materials, and we believe the result reinforces its enduring character.
We stripped the piece down to its bare materials and selected an iridescent green lacquer with subtle flecks of gold dispersed throughout the finish. Solid antiqued brass hardware frames the tabletop and pairs with the gold cross stretcher, both of which complement the gold tones in the lacquer. The original recessed tabletop design prompted a decision, and we chose to insert a panel of pebble grain Italian leather in a warm parchment color. The combination of the brilliant high gloss lacquer, jewel like brass and gold accents, and the generous leather panel results in a piece that is both stylish and timeless in its newly interpreted contemporary form.
This table is perfect as a generous side table between a pair of lounge chairs, as a card table suited for a spirited duel, or for any task that calls for a touch of style. -
