Aesthetic Movement Center Table
Unique Center Table with Leaded Glass Panels and Stenciling
American, circa 1882-83
Curly Maple, inset leaded glass, metallic paint
Dimensions: 30” high, 49” long, 28 ½” depth
This unique center table combines several of the design elements that became hallmarks in Louis Comfort Tiffany’s oeuvre: each side of the apron features either delicate silver stencilling or inset leaded glass panels, all supported by intricately carved wood legs.
Purchased by prominent New Yorkers in the early 1880s, this rare example of Tiffany’s furniture has remained in the same family for nearly 150 years. -
