Italian Midcentury Presidential Executive Table Desk designed by Vittorio Dassi

$ 11,750
  • Description
    Majestic Italian Midcentury Presidential Desk designed by Vittorio Dassi in 1950s, givenits large and rare dimensions , can be assumed that it was designed on special commission, the presence of a double bottom in a drawer, something very rare for the period, can confirm this hypothesis, large storage capacity thanks to the splendid double shelf, the upper one in thick glass and the lower one in wood, and six large drawers on the front .
    The sculptural design of the sides is very original is characterised by interrupted linear surfaces, the front is characterised by the presence of six large drawers with a refined projecting front which open thanks to a special groove carved in the lower front part, the back of the desk is truly impressive, the central recessed part is embellished with a fine maple inlay.
    The desk is in really good conditions considering that it still maintains the original finish, the beautiful grain of the walnut has over time taken on a fascinating patina with warm tones.
    There are some small signs of wear which do not detract from the overall beauty of this desk.
