Description
An elegant Italian game table from the late 18th century, crafted in walnut veneer with refined inlay work. The rectangular top is framed with linear inlays and opens to reveal a beautifully crafted checkerboard surface at its center, ideal for chess or draughts.
The apron is also adorned with delicate string inlay that adds architectural definition and understated elegance. Supported by four tapered truncated pyramid legs, the table balances grace with geometric clarity, characteristic of late Neoclassical design. The warm walnut tones and subtle contrasts in the inlay highlight the skill of Italian cabinetmakers of the period.
A multifunctional piece, it serves as both a decorative side table when closed and a practical gaming surface when open, perfect for a study, library, or refined living room.
Open: 29.5"W x 29.5"D x 29.75"H Closed: 29.5"W x 14.75"D x 30.75"H Apron: 24.875"H
