Description
A rare early Warren McArthur 6' conference table from the original Chrysler Desoto corporate showroom in Detroit. (see image 2 showing this table in a McArthur photo of part of Warren McArthur refurnishing of Chrysler)
This early aluminum and Bakelite table was commissioned as part of the refurnishing and modernization of the main Chrysler showroom in Detroit. This was in conjunction with Chrysler's introduction in 1934 of the Airflow, the first American aero-dynamically designed car.
McArthur Brothers had the Dodge franchise for the South Western US and Northern Mexico based out of their Phoenix showroom from 1910 through the 1920s. The Jordan, the Jeffries and the Packard Automobile Companies were also represented by the McArthur Brothers Phoenix during this period.
The table is in good condition with heavy wear to the top and edge trim. -
