Description
Created in Paris in the 1940s, this Retro French bracelet is composed of 18K gold and diamonds. Highly flexible, the tapering form is composed of bombé, peaked tubogas links bound by three, stepped bands star-set with old single-cut diamond accents. A highlight of French innovation inspired by early industrial design, this gleaming and subtly sparkly French bracelet is charmingly soft and slinky.

Literature: A bracelet of this design appears in Les Bijoux del' Art Déco aux Années 40, by Melissa Gabardi, p.303.
The industrial forms of the early 20th century inspired top French jewelry design houses, among them Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, to create imaginative and bold new styles. Sculptural and volumized "Tuyau à gaz" (gaspipe) and "tank track" bracelets were among the most popular artistic jewelry forms when gold stormed back into popularity in the early 1930s. - More Information
