Spectrolite Labradorite Gold Oxidized Silver Disc Necklace, Atelier Zobel 2026

$ 11,970
  • Description
    A masterful fusion of gemstone artistry and innovative goldsmithing, this extraordinary one-of-a-kind spectrolite necklace by Peter Schmid of Atelier Zobel showcases a dramatic composition of luminous spectrolite discs accented with the atelier's celebrated mixed-metal artistry. Handcrafted in oxidized sterling silver, 18k yellow gold, and 24k gold, the necklace exemplifies the distinctive aesthetic that has made Atelier Zobel one of the most respected names in contemporary studio jewelry.

    The necklace is composed of individually selected spectrolite discs, each displaying its own captivating display of iridescent color. Brilliant flashes of electric blue, violet, gold, emerald, and charcoal shimmer across the finely polished surfaces, creating a constantly changing play of light as the necklace moves. The graduated arrangement of the discs lends the piece an elegant rhythm while emphasizing the remarkable natural beauty of this rare gemstone.

    Interspersed throughout the strand are Atelier Zobel's signature gold-accented elements, where richly textured 18k and 24k gold appears to flow across darkened silver surfaces like molten sunlight. These handcrafted discs provide dramatic contrast and elevate the necklace from a gemstone strand to a wearable work of art.

    Measuring 18.7 inches in length, the necklace sits elegantly at the neckline, creating a bold statement while remaining sophisticated and wearable. Stamped and hallmarked, it reflects the exceptional craftsmanship, artistic vision, and meticulous attention to detail for which Peter Schmid and Atelier Zobel are internationally renowned.

    The Gemstones - Spectrolite is the finest and rarest variety of labradorite, discovered in Finland and prized for its exceptional optical phenomenon known as labradorescence. While traditional labradorite typically displays flashes of blue and green, spectrolite is celebrated for its broader spectrum of intense color, often revealing vivid blues, golds, oranges, violets, and greens within a single stone. Its rarity and remarkable brilliance make it highly sought after by collectors and gemstone connoisseurs worldwide.

    The Maker - Atelier Zobel has stood as a byword for extraordinary jewelry of timeless beauty for more than 45 years. Peter Schmid was born and raised in the South of Germany, completing his training as a goldsmith and jewelry designer in 1995. After working with the one whose work inspired him, Michael Zobel for more than ten years, Schmid took over the studio in 2005. Sculpted in precious metals Peter reveals the natural dialogue between the crystalline structures of the gemstone and their expression in avant-garde art. These conversations, initially sketched out with a 6B pencil, evolve into the one-of-a-kind collection that is masterly crafted in our studio in Konstanz, Germany. “When I think of beauty, I think of sophistication. A sexy confident woman, not afraid to provoke – that’s my muse. She’s complicated but worth it – like the jewelry we create.” – Peter Schmid.
