Description
Wiener Werkstatte Mouse Pendant. This rare design was by Viennese silversmith George Stoeger. Enameled works were a speciality of the Wiener Werkstaette (1904-1932). This art form was very trendy in the early 20th century. However, the technique required tremendous craftsmanship. Once the melted colored powder was cooled the piece could not be altered.
This round pendant is in sterling silver with blue enamel surround and central picture. The pendant measures 1 inch in diameter. The pendant bears impressed marks for WW, Austrian silver mark for .900 silver circa 1872-1922; GSt. This pendant is in excellent condition.
It is illustrated in the additional image of an archived page of Wiener Werkstatte enamel jewelry. -
