Pino Signoretto
Italian, 1944 - 2017
Pino Signoretto (1944-2017) was an Italian glass artist and sculptor known for his incredible skill in creating large-scale glass sculptures. He was born in Murano, Italy, and began his career as an apprentice at the age of 12, learning the traditional techniques of Murano glassblowing from his father.
Signoretto's work was characterized by its size and technical complexity. He was known for his ability to create large, intricate glass sculptures that often featured highly detailed figures and animals. His sculptures ranged in size from small tabletop pieces to massive installations that weighed thousands of pounds.
Signoretto worked with many of the world's leading artists and designers, including Dale Chihuly, Fernando Botero, and Jeff Koons. He was widely regarded as one of the most skilled glass artists of his time, and his work was exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.
In addition to his work as an artist, Signoretto was also a teacher and mentor to many young glassblowers in Murano. He passed away in 2017, leaving behind a legacy of incredible skill and innovation in the field of glass art.
