Dale Chihuly

Dale Chihuly is a contemporary glass artist known for his innovative and large-scale glass sculptures. He was born in Tacoma, Washington in 1941 and studied interior design and architecture at the University of Washington before becoming interested in glassblowing.
Chihuly is known for his use of vibrant colors and organic forms in his sculptures, which are often inspired by natural phenomena such as sea creatures and flowers. He has pioneered new techniques in glassblowing and has collaborated with teams of artists to create some of his largest and most complex works.
Chihuly's works are held in numerous public and private collections around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Chihuly Garden and Glass museum in Seattle, which he founded in 2012. He has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to the field of glass art, including the National Medal of Arts from the U.S. government in 2006.
