Raymond C. Yard

American, 1922
Raymond C. Yard began his jewelry trade career in 1898 at age 13, working for a doorboy at Marcus & Co. in New York. Yard progressed through the ranks of the company and evenutally moved into sales. In 1922, Raymond started his own firm under the encouragement of his established client, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Soon, members of the Woolworth, Flagler, duPont, Harriman and Vanderbilt families along with stars Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks were Raymond C. Yard’s frequent jewelry customers. Raymond eventually retired and passed his company onto Robert Gibson in 1958. Gibson retired in 1989 passing the reigns onto his son, Bob Gibson-who still manages the firm to this day. Shop vintage Raymond Yard estate jewelry on Incollect today!
