Catch Top Interior Designers and Gwyneth Paltrow at The Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville
Offering a veritable cornucopia of fine antiques, lively garden design and horticultural items, the Antiques & Garden Show of Nashville is a welcome breath of fresh air during the seemingly endless winter months. Held February 12-14, in the Music City Center, the three-day event is the largest show of its kind and widely considered the best, attracting droves of collectors, gardeners and design enthusiasts from across the country.
A long-standing charity event, which benefits Cheekwood, Nashville’s beloved 55-acre estate, Botanical Garden and Museum of Art, and the Economic Club of Nashville, the Antiques & Garden Show will welcome over 150 top-notch antiques and horticultural exhibitors, including Jayne Thompson Antiques & Design, the Philadelphia Print Shop, and Zane Moss Antiques. Bursting with spectacular, professionally-designed floral confections and gardens, the show provides a truly unique and magical browsing experience for collectors.
In addition to its must-have offerings and stunning atmosphere, one of the Antique & Garden Show’s defining features is its stellar lecture series. Lifestyle guru (oh, and Academy Award-winning actress) Gwyneth Paltrow will headline this year’s Keynote Program. Paltrow, who discusses everything from vegan cooking to must-see art exhibitions on Goop, her digital bible for healthy living, will take the stage with interior designer and close friend, Windsor Smith, on Friday, February 12. The duo will share insights on their enviable personal design and lifestyle aesthetics.
Paltrow’s kick-off lecture will be followed by a discussion led by Bunny Williams and Brian McCarthy, authors of Parish-Hadley: Tree of Life --- a beautifully illustrated volume exploring the history of Parish-Hadley, the legendary interior design firm that set the standard for American style. McCarthy and Williams, who happens to be the show’s Honorary Chair, will be joined by fellow Parish-Hadley alum, David Kleinberg. On Saturday, February 13, guests can catch the show’s Design Panel discussion featuring such tastemakers as Suzanne Rheinstein, Mark D. Sikes, Brian Murphy and Windsor Smith. The panel will be moderated by Stacey Bewkes, who helms the acclaimed art and design blog Quintessence.
The Antiques & Garden Show will open with a Preview Party on Thursday, February 11, and will run through Sunday, February 14. Forget a dozen roses --- could you think of a better place to spend Valentine’s Day?
