Stig Lindberg

Swedish, 1916 - 1982
Stig Lindberg (1916-1982) was a Swedish ceramic artist and designer known for his distinctive style and playful approach to design. He began his career at Gustavsberg Porcelain Factory in the late 1930s, where he quickly became known for his innovative designs.

Lindberg's work is characterized by its bold colors, graphic patterns, and whimsical motifs. He often incorporated nature-inspired designs into his work, such as leaves, flowers, and animals. He was also known for his use of unusual shapes and forms, such as asymmetrical bowls and vases.

In addition to his work at Gustavsberg, Lindberg also designed for other Swedish ceramic companies such as Uppsala-Ekeby and Karlskrona Porcelain Factory. He also designed a range of other products, including textiles, glassware, and furniture.

Lindberg's work has been widely exhibited and is represented in major museum collections around the world. He is considered one of the most important ceramic artists and designers of the mid-20th century, and his work continues to influence and inspire contemporary designers today.
