Daghestan or Shirvan Rug

$ 4,950
  • Description
    A beautiful old rug from the Eastern Caucasus (Azerbaijan), in a style attributed to the Shirvan region or possibly further north in Daghestan. Finely woven with excellent quality wool, with a unique composition in the field and characteristic "Kufic" borders, inspired by the angular calligraphy script of the same name. Very well preserved.
