Antique Erzurum Kilim
-
Description
A highly unusual antique Kilim from a region in Eastern Turkey that is famous for its finely woven Kilims. This is a rather large piece and the design is quite unique in our experience, as most Erzurum Kilims are in small format, often featuring prayer designs. The brilliant color palette includes a very saturated blue-green in the two large medallion and a deep red derived from cochineal in the background. This is a great example of Anatolian Kilim art, worthy of any collection, that is also suitable for floor use.
