Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show 2017

The Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show opened Thursday evening, April 20th, to a packed crowd. Collectors and enthusiasts eagerly examined furniture, art, and decorative arts, resulting in many "red dots" (sales). Sales continued to be healthy throughout the show, particularly for dealers selling American furniture, wtih exhibitors commenting on the positive energy they were seeeing from collectors.

Programs offered during the show included a lecture by interior designer Meg Braff, "The Art of Reinterpreting What's Old and Making it New Again"; her talk was sponsored by Incollect. This year's loan exhibition, "What So Proudly We Hail," featured important examples of American flags and patriotic textiles and was curated by exhibitor and expert on historic flags, Jeff Bridgman. In addition, the Antiques Dealers of America held its annual Award of Merit Dinner, this year honoring Patricia Kane, the Friends of American Arts Curator of American Decorative Arts at Yale University Art Gallery.

A major contributor to the show's success---in addition to the stellar exhibitors---is the support of the comittee and their friends. Additionally, show managers Ralph and Karen DiSaia and Diana Bittel, continue to be masters in the show arena.

This year's beneficiary was Penn Radiation Onecology's Quality of Life Program. For more information about the show, visit Philadelphia Antiques and Art Show.
