  • Description
    Oil on artist board painting by the well known Maine artisr, Keith Oehmig. Signed lower left. Executed in 2016. Housed in a custom made carved gold leaf frame. Overall size framed 19 by 23 inches. Condition: excellent.

    Originally from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Oehmig now resides in Brunswick, Maine. He holds a B.A. in Studio Art and Art History from Principia College, Elsah, Illinois, as well as an M.F.A. with Distinction in Fine Art from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, New York.

    Oehmig's works are infused with light and color, and his painterly style is well suited to capturing the natural landscape throughout Maine, along the Eastern seaboard, and the French and Italian countryside.

    Oehmig has shown his work in solo and group exhibitions across the United States including the New Britain Museum of American Art, New Britain, Connecticut; Bates College Museum of Art, Lewiston, Maine; the Hunter Museum of American Art, Chattanooga, Tennessee; the Portland Museum of Art, Portland, Maine; the Wood Museum and Library, Chicago, Illinois; Albany Fine Arts, Albany, New York; Art Boston, Boston, Massachusetts; Bay View Gallery, Camden, Maine; Clarke Galleries, Palm Beach, Florida; J. Todd Galleries, Wellesley, Massachusetts; the Maine State House, Augusta, Maine; and the Wiscasset Bay Gallery, Wiscasset, Maine.

    Oehmig's paintings have won numerous awards including the Merit Award from the Hunter Museum of American Art, the Mable Axcy Dominick Award, Principia College, the Kodak International Newspaper Award, and Best In Show-Cityscape at the Gallery at Six Deering, Portland, Maine

    Museums, corporate and public collections, and private collectors in the United States and abroad own Oehmig's paintings. His works can be found in the permanent collections of the New Britain Museum of American Art; Hunter Museum of American Art; the Portland Museum of Art; the Wood Museum and Library; Palmina and Stephen Pace Gallery, Fryeburg, Maine; Ensign Bank, New York, New York; Galerie K in Berlin, Germany; GTE/Sylvania Collection, Waldoboro, Maine; Key Bank of Maine; MBNA Collection, Wilmington, Delaware; and United Technologies Corporation, Hartford, Connecticut.
