United Furniture Corporation

American
United Furniture Corporation was an American furniture company that was founded in 1905 in Lexington, North Carolina. The company specialized in the production of medium-priced bedroom and dining room furniture, and it became one of the largest furniture manufacturers in the United States.

United Furniture Corporation was known for its innovative designs, quality craftsmanship, and affordable prices, which made its furniture accessible to a wide range of consumers. The company also implemented modern manufacturing techniques, such as the use of assembly lines, which increased efficiency and productivity.

During its peak in the 1950s and 60s, United Furniture Corporation had several factories and showrooms across the United States, and its furniture was sold in department stores and furniture retailers throughout the country. The company also exported its products to other countries, including Canada and Australia.

However, like many American furniture companies, United Furniture Corporation faced increased competition from foreign imports and changing consumer preferences in the late 20th century. The company was eventually sold to a larger furniture manufacturer in 1987 and ceased operations shortly thereafter. Today, vintage United Furniture Corporation pieces are highly sought after by collectors and furniture enthusiasts.
