Description
Rare "Queen of Sheba" executive desk with two drawers, brass inlays and a leather top by Ib Kofod-Larsen. Larsen designed this desk as well as other pieces at the behest of Selig furniture.
From the Jewish Chronicle of Pittsburgh : " Selig sent the gifted Danish designer Ib Kofod-Larsen to Israel. I told him to go to all the digs and museums. 'Make believe you're King Solomon's carpenter'... at the Megiddo dig he found the governor's seal which was a lion. It became, the logo or the identification mark used on the line of furniture he created which is named for the dig, Megiddo... It has taken Selig and Kofod-Larsen almost two years to complete the few pieces that are on display now at the Hende Jon showrooms, which include about five chairs, a refectory table, a desk and two groups of tables..." -
