Hans Kaufeld

German, 1918
Hans Kaufeld was a German furniture designer and manufacturer who was born in 1925 and passed away in 1997. He was known for his innovative furniture designs, particularly his use of new materials and manufacturing techniques.

Kaufeld's designs often incorporated materials such as fiberglass, molded plastic, and bent plywood, which allowed for new forms and shapes that were not possible with traditional furniture-making methods. His designs were also known for their functionality and ease of use, with a focus on ergonomics and practicality.

Kaufeld founded his own furniture company, Kaufeld Möbelwerke, in 1952, which produced many of his designs. His work was exhibited in several international exhibitions, including the 1958 Brussels World's Fair and the 1964 Milan Triennale.

Today, Kaufeld's designs are considered classic examples of mid-century modern furniture design, and many of his pieces are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
