Description
Elegant dining table by Oscar Tusquets Blanca, Spain, 1985
Painted wood base, etched glass top and bronze feet. Manufactured by Casas.
(This is the first edition of this model as it was later produced in Aluminum.)
Spanish architect and designer Oscar Tusquets is an important figure in the postmodern movement.
He lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. And thus influenced by Antoni Gaudi. In this case, the massive pedestal base of the table, with it's organic legs stretching out to rest on four bronze lion's-paw feet, suggests Gaudi's distinctive Catalan Art Nouveau vocabulary. -
