Industrial Chic Penthouse, Upper West Side

A visual that would bring nature and the outdoors in, important to this family, is achieved using tactile organic materials like wood, stone, metal, and greenery throughout to evoke the warmth of naturals and the sophistication of cutting edge industrial design. Gray and copper wallpaper unifies the open-space kitchen and living room, as do the perfectly engineered carved wood beams on the ceiling. Painted glass cabinets are the patina of weathered copper. The steel subway tile on the backsplash has an industrial feel, which also relates to the brick pattern in the foyer and old New York. Soffits are wrapped in wallpaper that appears to be made of iron. Kitchen tables are custom concrete tops on steel bases, lit by industrial outdoor sconces with a classic Edison exposed bulb.
