Description
Poul Henningsen 'PH 4½ - 3½' Glass Floor Lamp for Louis Poulsen.
The 'PH 4½ - 3½' glass floor lamp is composed of white opal mouth blown glass shades which have been sandblasted on the undersides for uniform light distribution, with a high luster chrome-plated spun brass top plate and socket compartment. Features a purple spun aluminum anti-glare ring and high luster chrome-plated steel stem with a weighted high luster chrome-plated brass base.
The 'PH 4½ - 3½' glass floor lamp was launched in 1990 as an addition to the PH 3-shade family. The multi-shade design was originally conceived by Poul Henningsen in the winter of 1925-1926 using his scientific approach to light with the goal of creating harmonious, glare-free light and soft shadows. The diffuse reflection of light through the white opal mouth blown glass shades of the 'PH 4½ - 3½' glass floor lamp creates soft illumination.
