Description
French Empire Bureau Plat of Stately Size, the top inset with a dark leather writing surface surrounded by a stenciled gilt border, the frieze containing a center drawer flanked by smaller drawers on either side, the right one also has a lockable security compartment. Furthermore there are slide outs (16.5 inches each) on both ends with conforming leather surface. Two pairs of ebonized monopodia legs, joined on each side by bottom stretchers, are supporting the top, the ebonizing probably to simulate verdis gris.
Our pieces are left in lived-in condition, pending our custom conservation and polish to preference. -
