Cotton Kayseri Rug (DK-92-90)
-
Description
A beautiful old Turkish rug with a classical "garden" design featuring many imaginative forms of flora and fauna - perhaps a vision of the Garden of Eden. A particularly refined example of the type with wonderful colors. The pile is knotted with mercerized cotton which has a lustrous appearance. These rugs were often presented as silk.
