Franco-Flemish 17th Century Walnut and Ebonized Console Table

$ 12,750
  • Description
    Highly unusual ebonized side / console table. A tour-de-force of bobbin-turned legs and stretchers supporting a two-board top. The black ebonizing beautifully worn off at the more exposed and touched parts. The rhythm of interlocked vertical and horizontal legs and stretchers give this table a striking look.
    Of Franco-Flemish origin, showing a strong English influence. Probably adapted from a drop-leaf table, the removal of the leaf and solidifying of the support legs brings out the strong design to its full advantage.
    Our pieces are left in lived-in condition, pending our custom conservation and polish to preference.
    On consignment from a sophisticated collector.
