The chair is characterized by its simple and elegant design, which features a curved seat and backrest that are made of laminated wood. The chair's lightweight and stackable design made it a popular choice for public spaces such as schools and auditoriums.

In addition to his work as a furniture designer, Malmvall was also a teacher and mentor to many young designers in Sweden. He was a professor at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Finland, and was also a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts.

Overall, Malmvall's designs are admired for their timeless simplicity and functionality, and his influence can be seen in many contemporary furniture designs today.
